Four local council deputies to be tried for false declarations

According to НАЗК: Law enforcement authorities have submitted indictments to the court against four local council deputies following comprehensive audits conducted by the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC). The deputies are accused of deliberately inserting false information into their declarations.

Among the individuals involved in the case

Among those involved in the case is a deputy from the Khmelnytskyi region, whose declarations for 2022 and 2023 revealed false information amounting to 13.9 million UAH. Among the undeclared assets of the Khmelnytskyi deputy are:

• apartments
• residential house
• land plots
• cars
• funds in bank accounts
• family income

Significant discrepancies between actual and declared income from business activities have also been discovered.

Two deputies of the Ukrainian village council in Dnipropetrovsk region also find themselves under investigation. One of them did not indicate in his declaration for 2024 the use of 25 land plots, which led to a total of false information exceeding 17 million UAH. Another deputy from the same council failed to declare 12 land plots as well as funds in bank accounts and submitted false data regarding income from business activities, totaling over 8 million UAH.

In addition, a deputy of the Brovary District Council did not indicate in his declaration for 2024 the corporate rights in his own company worth 8.5 million UAH. According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.

This case underscores the importance of transparency and accountability for public officials, especially in the context of combating corruption in Ukraine.

Public support and the active role of the NAPC in identifying violations can strengthen trust in state institutions. Court proceedings against the mentioned deputies may become an important step in establishing law and accountability among public servants.
