This procedure takes about 20 minutes and is necessary to confirm the identity of pension recipients. It is important to note that the successful completion of identification through the 'Diia.Signature' platform is automatically counted as passing physical identification. Identification can also be performed via the Pension Fund mobile application, provided one has an ID card or a foreign biometric passport.

However, despite the clarity of the procedure, pensioners face various difficulties. Among the main problems are technical failures and fraud.

“It seems that the procedure is not new and everyone has told about it 100 times, but the closer we get to the deadlines, the more questions arise,” said Irina Polyakova.

She also emphasized that if an inspector dictates a mobile number and asks to send a photo of the passport, code, or bank card, one should end the call.

“Hang up, because the risk of fraud is already off the charts,” she added.

To avoid problems during the identification process, experts recommend pensioners:

• take screenshots during the procedure;
• check email for confirming information;
• avoid phone calls to hotlines that may be fraudulent.
