By the End of 2026, Deezer Will Let Users Filter Out AI-Generated Music from Their Feeds
Deezer Introduces New AI Music Filtering Feature
According to НВ — Техно: Deezer, the popular music streaming platform, has revealed plans to roll out a new tool enabling listeners to exclude AI-generated tracks from their music feeds by the end of 2026. Once enabled, this filter will remove AI-created songs, albums, and associated artists from search results and playlists. Deezer’s CEO, Alexis Lanternier, emphasized that the feature responds directly to user demand:
“Our users have clearly asked for a way to filter out music made with artificial intelligence. We’re now empowering everyone to completely remove this content from their streaming experience on Deezer, allowing them to focus solely on human creators and their work if they choose.” – Alexis Lanternier
It’s worth noting that Deezer began deploying AI detection tools last year as the volume of AI music grew rapidly on the platform. By 2025, AI tracks accounted for 10% of daily streams, and by July 2026, they made up over half-around 90,000 tracks played daily. A survey from last year found that approximately 45% of Deezer users wished to exclude AI-generated music from their listening streams.
How Other Streaming Services Are Responding
The rise of AI music has prompted other major streaming platforms to take action as well:
- Spotify has introduced clear labels identifying AI-generated tracks and artists.
- Apple Music plans to implement AI content tagging by the end of 2026.
One notable AI-created hit is the Ukrainian song "Chervonyi Mak" by Kolibri and Zlata Ko, featuring AI-generated vocals. This track became one of the summer 2026’s standout songs, with its music video surpassing 38 million views on YouTube.
Deezer’s upcoming filter highlights growing user concerns about AI-produced content and demonstrates how streaming services are adapting to meet these preferences. As AI music continues to surge, industry leaders worldwide are moving toward greater transparency, which could reshape listening habits and influence the future role of artificial intelligence in creative fields.
The introduction of AI filtering by Deezer comes at a time when concerns about artificial intelligence in music are escalating. As highlighted in a recent report, fraudsters are leveraging AI to upload counterfeit songs across various streaming platforms, raising questions about the authenticity of music content. This growing issue underlines the importance of user-driven features like Deezer's new tool, allowing listeners to curate their experiences more effectively.
