Denis Maslov - Candidate for the Minister of Justice Position: What is Known About the Appointment

According to Главком: The candidate for the position of Minister of Justice of Ukraine is Denis Maslov, who currently holds the position of chairman of the legal committee of the Verkhovna Rada from the 'Servant of the People' party. Maslov's appointment is possible if his candidacy is supported by the Verkhovna Rada.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada recently supported the resignations of several ministers. In particular, the decision to dismiss Herman Halushchenko from the position of Minister of Justice was approved with 323 votes, and the resignation of Svitlana Hrynchuk from the position of Minister of Energy was approved with 315 votes. Currently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Lyudmyla Suhak as the acting Minister of Justice of Ukraine, and Artem Nekrasov as the acting Minister of Energy.

Comments and Prospects

Irina Mudra, Deputy Head of the President's Office, stated:

“The candidate for the position of Minister of Justice is Denis Maslov. If the Verkhovna Rada supports his candidacy, he will lead the Ministry.”

She also noted that she had a constructive and professional conversation with the head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, and the candidate for the position of Minister of Justice, Denis Maslov, during which they agreed on joint work, coordination of actions, and mutual support in implementing policy in the field of justice.

Thus, the appointment of Denis Maslov to the position of Minister of Justice could be an important step in reforming the legal system of Ukraine, if his candidacy is supported by the Verkhovna Rada.

The appointment of a new Minister of Justice is an important stage in forming the government of Ukraine after recent resignations. Currently, there is an active change in leadership in key state structures, which may indicate the government's intention to renew approaches to management and reforms. If Maslov's candidacy is approved, it could influence further reforms in the legal system, which, in turn, will be an important aspect for the country's Euro-integration processes.
