Court Investigation of the Enterprise Director
According to Главком: The director of the enterprise in Kyiv will be tried for abuse of power related to removing military personnel from the search. According to information, a 27-year-old woman demanded $26 thousand for 'solving the issue' regarding their removal from search. She was detained in August 2022.
Of this amount, $19 thousand was received as an advance. The charges concern Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, which regulates detention, as well as part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for punishment for abuse of power. Under these charges, the woman faces up to five years in prison.
The Problem of Draft Evasion
This case is part of a broader problem, as three new schemes of draft evasion have recently been discovered and blocked. It is also worth noting that the Railway District Court of Lviv has sentenced a woman who helped a relative illegally cross the border. These events highlight serious violations related to mobilization in Ukraine.
The situation with mobilization in Ukraine remains tense as state authorities try to combat abuses and schemes for draft evasion. The detection of such crimes, as in this case, indicates an intensification of law enforcement in this area. Similar cases may have a significant impact on public opinion and trust in state institutions in the context of fulfilling mobilization obligations.
Such actions may also influence future legislative initiatives aimed at improving the control system over mobilization in Ukraine.
