Dnipro failed to qualify for the European Cup: heavy defeat to the Romanians
The Ukrainian champion, the basketball club 'Dnipro', suffered a defeat in the second match of the FIBA European Cup qualification, losing to the Romanian team 'Corona Brasov' with a score of 64:95. This was reported by the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.
In the home match, 'Dnipro' fell behind at the very start of the meeting. 'Brasov' took the lead in the first quarter with a 16-point advantage and maintained their lead throughout the game. The Romanians dominated in every quarter, establishing a daunting lead in the final part of the match.
The opponent demonstrated high shooting accuracy, hitting 58% of two-point shots and 59% of three-point shots.
The best player of 'Dnipro' was American guard CJ Williamson, who scored 16 points and made 6 assists. Maxim Zakurdaev followed closely with 15 points, including three three-pointers.
Having lost both matches in the qualifying round, 'Dnipro' was unable to advance to the group stage of the FIBA European Cup.
