This benefit is available to dependent family members of individuals who hold the legal status of missing persons due to extraordinary events.

Under Ukrainian law, specifically the Law of Ukraine 'On Compulsory State Pension Insurance,' the right to a survivor's pension takes effect one month after the missing person's details are entered into the Unified Register of Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances. Payments continue for as long as the individual retains that missing status.

It is crucial to note that if someone qualifies for more than one type of pension, they may only receive one, based on their own choice. Pension payments stop on the first day of the month following the date when a record is added to the register confirming the person's location has been determined.
