Jamala on the change of rules at Eurovision: what will happen to the artists after the scandal
Singer Jamala, who this year became the music producer of the National Selection for Eurovision-2026, expressed her opinion on the possible change of criteria for artists' participation. This became known against the backdrop of Olya Polyakova's loud initiative. Jamala noted that she is interested in the political position of participants, but she does not have direct influence on the formulation of the rules.
Currently, the rules established in 2019 are in effect at the National Selection, which led to a conflict with Maruv. These rules prohibit participation for artists who performed in Russia or in temporarily occupied territories after March 2014. Jamala believes that these criteria may require some adjustments for a clearer political stance.

Polyakova announced her intentions to sue the broadcaster, feeling supported in her position.
