Unified ticket for all types of transport: what will change in Ukraine from 2026

Introduction of a unified ticket form in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: From January 1, 2026, a decree of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine will come into force, which provides for the introduction of a unified ticket form for all types of transport. The main goal of this initiative is to unify documents, which will allow the creation of a digital ecosystem called Smart Ticket. The reform includes both paper and electronic travel documents, significantly simplifying the travel process for passengers.

New ticket requirements

According to the new requirements, tickets must contain several important elements. Among them:

• information about the ticket price;
• registration number;
• date and time of departure and arrival;
• carrier's information;
• information about the insurance contract and insurer.

Moreover, a QR code will be placed on the front side of the ticket, simplifying document verification during travel.

Changes will also affect international tickets, which will become personal documents containing the passenger's surname and first name. Carriers will be required to record the exact time and place of connecting flights, as well as waiting times, which will improve transportation organization and enhance passenger comfort.

The introduction of a unified ticket form in Ukraine can significantly ease the travel process by reducing administrative barriers and simplifying interaction between various types of transport.
