According to glavcom.ua: The military noticed it in the thermal imager and mistakenly decided it was an enemy tank. After that, they fired six shots at Challenger 2 from a distance of about 500 m. Fortunately, none of the tank crew were injured, as the cannon was loaded with inert training shells that do not contain explosives.

A Ministry of Defense representative confirmed the incident and noted that an official investigation into the incident has been initiated. It is worth mentioning that the Warrior tank itself did not suffer significant damage and has already returned to training. At the same time, the United Kingdom has sent its combat aircraft Typhoon to defend the airspace of Poland as part of the NATO Eastern Sentinel mission.

Immediately before this, the Estonian Minister of Defense expressed readiness to host British F-35A fighters on its territory, which may carry nuclear weapons. He emphasized that 'the doors are always open for allies.'
