Former goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team detained while attempting to illegally leave the country

According to glavcom.ua: Former football player Artur Rudko was detained while trying to leave Ukraine. According to unofficial information, he is currently undergoing military training at one of the UAF training centers.

Rudko played for clubs such as Dynamo, Shakhtar, Metalist, Lech, and Paphos, and also represented the youth national team of Ukraine. His last club was Chornomorets, from which he departed.

In the match against Azerbaijan, the Ukrainian national team drew 1:1. The next match for the Ukrainian team is against Iceland on October 10. Earlier, there was a defeat against France 0:2 in the qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup.

During the match Ukraine - France, Ukrainian fans unfurled a banner with the inscription 'Fortress of Europe'.

After former football player Artur Rudko was detained while attempting to cross the border, questions inevitably arose regarding the reasons for his departure from the country and his future plans. At the same time, the Ukrainian national team is preparing for the upcoming matches in the World Cup qualifiers, leaving behind both victories and defeats, which need to be addressed for further improvement of the team's gameplay.
