Trump talks about ending the war in Ukraine

According to glavcom.ua: US President Donald Trump expressed his intention to end the conflict in Ukraine but has not yet provided specific details regarding possible steps. A personal visit to Ukraine might help him better assess the situation on the ground. This was stated by former head of US Special Operations intelligence, Kerwin Aukin, in an interview with 'Radio Liberty'.

'If Russia continues its attacks on Ukrainian targets and expands its aggression to western Ukraine, Trump may change his position and oppose Russia more decisively. However, remote US intervention after many years of conflict is unlikely due to the war and uncertainty,' Aukin noted.

Discussion with Trump

After a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump expressed disappointment regarding the continued military actions by Russia. He also supported the idea of providing Patriot systems for Ukrainian air defense to strengthen Ukraine's defensive capabilities.

During the phone call, they discussed the possibility of restoring air defense for Ukraine and the potential for joint production with the American side. The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, confirmed very productive negotiations between Zelensky and Trump and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the United States.

Donald Trump expressed a desire to end the conflict in Ukraine and supported the idea of providing air defense systems to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. The Ukrainian side confirmed its readiness to cooperate with the US to ensure regional security.
