DTEK's Thermal Power Plant Recovery Efforts

According to Главком: Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK energy workers have fully restored thermal power plants (TPPs) from scratch 68 times following enemy strikes. During the most recent heating season alone, this figure reached 17 restarts. The company has faced over 220 attacks on its TPPs since the war began, resulting in 59 injured workers and 4 fatalities.

In the last heating season, 11 large-scale waves of attacks targeted DTEK's thermal plants. These figures highlight the relentless pressure on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the human cost borne by those maintaining it.

CEO's Statement

Throughout the most challenging heating season, DTEK energy workers brought the company's thermal power plants back from zero 17 times and restored their operation after massive shelling. Since the start of the full-scale war, this has happened 68 times.

Fomenko emphasized that after each wave of strikes, energy workers immediately began clearing the damage and carrying out restoration work to bring the thermal plants back online as quickly as possible.

We continue to do everything possible to maintain the resilience of the power grid and to prepare for summer consumption peaks and the next heating season.

Despite significant losses in both equipment and personnel, the company persists in its recovery efforts, demonstrating its resilience and readiness for future challenges. In addition to the remarkable recovery efforts at thermal plants, DTEK has also made significant strides in restoring electricity to affected households. Recently, the company managed to bring power back to over 539,000 homes within just a week, showcasing their commitment to ensuring energy stability across Ukraine amidst the ongoing challenges posed by the war.
