November 7 Strikes Target Kyiv

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: In the early hours of November 7, Kyiv endured three separate assaults by Russian forces, resulting in injuries to five individuals, including a 14-year-old child. These attacks caused damage to residential buildings, a kindergarten in the Solomianskyi district, and the Northern Bridge over the Dnipro River, leading to a complete closure of the bridge in both directions.

The initial ballistic missile strike occurred on the evening of November 6, followed by a second attack around 1 a.m. on November 7 targeting infrastructure facilities in Kyiv’s suburbs. Explosions were heard again near 3 a.m. within the city.

Damage and Impact from the Attacks

Several buildings in the Solomianskyi district sustained damage. The facade of a five-story residential building was partially destroyed on the ground floor, though no fire or casualties were reported there. Windows were shattered by blast waves in three other five-story apartment buildings. Additionally, a two-story structure within the kindergarten grounds was damaged.

  • A truck and a non-residential building caught fire but were swiftly extinguished.
  • Initial reports indicated three injuries, which later increased to five.
  • Two of the wounded were hospitalized.

Beyond Kyiv city, the Kyiv region also suffered destruction following a drone attack. Rescue workers from the State Emergency Service freed a man born in 1951 from the rubble, while a woman born in 1960 managed to escape on her own. Both sustained injuries.

“Five people were wounded in the capital due to the enemy attack, including a 14-year-old child. Two injured individuals were hospitalized,” stated Vitali Klitschko.

Traffic has been temporarily halted on the Northern Bridge in both directions, as well as on Volnovaska Street (from the intersection with Vaclav Havel Boulevard to the intersection with Svitlodarska Street).

These attacks are part of ongoing large-scale strikes against Ukrainian cities, which continue despite mounting civilian casualties. The security situation in Ukraine remains critical as hostile actions persist, threatening the safety of civilians and vital infrastructure. Kyiv’s authorities and emergency responders are actively addressing the aftermath, providing medical aid and emphasizing the urgent need to protect the civilian population amid the conflict.

In light of these recent events, it's important to understand the broader context of the ongoing conflict, as Russian forces have intensified their assaults across multiple regions. For instance, the latest reports indicate a series of ballistic missile strikes targeting not only Kyiv but also 11 other Ukrainian regions, reflecting a troubling escalation in military activity that warrants closer examination.
