Estonia will pay recruits for good physical fitness
According to glavcom.ua: Estonia has decided to incentivize recruits who have good physical preparedness by providing them with a monthly bonus to their financial support. Those who successfully pass the physical fitness test can receive an additional 50 euros along with their salary. The tests include squats, push-ups, and running 3.2 km, and those who excel in them will have a pleasant addition to their income.
«The Defense Resource Agency (KRA) announced that it will pay an additional bonus of 50 euros to recruits who pass the physical fitness test with a score of at least 240 out of 300,» the article says.
Additionally, those who manage to obtain a category B driver's license before conscription can receive even 1000 euros. In this way, Estonia aims to increase recruits' motivation to take care of their health and physical fitness to improve the country's defense capability.
This initiative is a pilot project that will last until January 2027. The goal is to ensure that as many future servicemen as possible meet the necessary physical standards. This is an important step in strengthening national security.
