European Gymnastics Assembly Delayed Over Russian Symbols Controversy

According to Главком: An extraordinary general assembly of European Gymnastics, originally scheduled for June 29 to address the use of Russian national symbols in competitions, has been postponed. The decision follows a letter from 11 national federations urging a ban on the Russian flag and anthem at events.

On May 24, the European Gymnastics executive committee lifted sanctions against Russian and Belarusian athletes. This move came just six days after the International Gymnastics Federation also removed restrictions, allowing Russian competitors to participate under their flag and anthem. These decisions have sparked mixed reactions across the sports community.
