France detains Russian basketball player at the request of the US: details

According to glavcom.ua: Russian basketball player Danila Kasatkin was detained at Paris airport at the request of the US. According to investigators, he is suspected of involvement in a hacker group that demanded ransom from 900 companies. The athlete's lawyer claims that his client may have been used as a cover for hacking activities.
«He didn't touch anything on the computer: either he was hacked, or the hacker sold him a computer to act under another person's cover,» - stated Kasatkin's lawyer, Frederic Belo.
Danil Kasatkin was born on January 25, 1999, and played for the Russian club «MBA-MAI», where he won two bronze medals at the Russian Cup. Events regarding his detention and alleged involvement in hacking activities are ongoing, further developments are expected.
