FT: The USA will supply Ukraine with 33 thousand AI kits for drones, contract amount revealed
According to hvylya.net: The company Auterion will supply Ukraine with 33 thousand artificial intelligence kits for drones in order to combat attacks from Russian drones. The CEO of the company, Lorenz Meyer, stated that the new contract with the Pentagon involves the delivery of 'tens of thousands' of such systems by the end of this year, which is 'unprecedented' in scale.
According to him, the new commitment represents 'ten times greater scale' compared to previous deliveries. The company's software is already being used in Ukrainian drones during combat missions against Russia.
Auterion will deliver 'strike kits' that transform ordinary drones into independent systems with AI, capable of tracking targets and operating in conditions previously inaccessible to manually controlled drones.
Russian Drones and the War in Ukraine
Recent weeks have shown an escalation in Russia's air attacks on Ukraine, using hundreds of Iranian-made Shahed strike drones. The swarm tactic has allowed Russian drones to penetrate Ukrainian air defense more frequently than ever before.
According to official data, the swarm tactic also breaks through Ukrainian air defense more often, with strikes reaching targets approximately three times more frequently than usual in recent months.
Auterion hopes for further agreements to supply its software to countries in Europe, emphasizing that its technologies open a new stage in the war, allowing autonomous drones to communicate and work as a team with high efficiency.
