Heydarov wins gold at the European Youth Olympic Festival

According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian judoka Khazar Heydarov won the gold medal in the under 60 kg weight category at the European Youth Olympic Festival held in Skopje. This victory became the second for the Ukrainian team at this competition, the press service of the NOC of Ukraine reported.

During the tournament, Khazar Heydarov demonstrated impressive skills and fighting, starting from the 1/8 finals and finishing his journey on the highest step. In the final, he faced the world ranking leader among cadets from Azerbaijan, but was able to control the game and deservedly claim victory.

'I am very happy because the European Youth Olympic Festival is a very important event for me. I planned for this competition and everything went well,' said Khazar after the awards ceremony.

The athlete emphasized that performing at this festival was an important step towards his dream of winning Olympic 'gold', and he already felt the atmosphere of major international competitions.
