Head of UBT: Ukrainian defense industry works in vain due to lack of financing

According to glavcom.ua: The General Director of the company 'Ukrainian Armored Vehicles' Vladyslav Belbas notes that the Ukrainian defense industry lacks funds, which can only be provided by the state budget. In an interview for Censor.NET, he discusses the challenges of attracting external financing in this sector.

'We are all underperforming - we are not sufficiently supporting the front. The state is primarily underperforming in attracting external financing, it is catastrophically underperforming,' says Vladyslav Belbas.

The head of the company points to the difficulties that become obstacles for the Ukrainian defense industry in this regard. Belbas emphasizes the importance of transparency and understanding of the distribution of financing for all market participants and Western institutions.

'In the West, there is a lot of money, but in Ukraine, there are many underloaded enterprises. But... They say to us: 'We cannot provide your products for export, because there is a need for armored vehicles. There is a need for everything you produce, but there is no money for it.' To which I respond: 'Then please give me a list of international financing projects you have submitted us to for funding.' And here the silence begins,' emphasizes Belbas.

The Ukrainian defense industry faces challenges in attracting external financing due to insufficient funds and shortcomings in the distribution of financing by the state.
