Head of Ukrposhta earned 11.7 million UAH: why he does not own housing

According to glavcom.ua: The General Director of 'Ukrposhta', Ihor Smilianskyi, stated that he does not own housing or a car, despite receiving a significant salary. He rents an apartment in Kyiv and travels on foot or uses company cars. In 2024, his official income amounted to over 11.7 million UAH, approximately 600,000 UAH per month.

Part of the taxes is paid in the USA, where he has the status of a tax resident, and over 2.3 million UAH is paid in Ukraine. Mr. Smilianskyi also keeps in touch with the public via social media and oversees the logistics of 'Ukrposhta'.

Additionally, 'Ukrposhta' updated its fleet with 160 new cars, compensating for losses from enemy shelling amounting to over 2.5 billion UAH. This partnership with the EBRD helped alleviate the situation with damaged infrastructure of the national postal operator.
