Ukrainian Military Reports 140 Combat Engagements in 24 Hours Amid Intense Fighting

Operational Update from the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff

According to Главком: The Ukrainian General Staff reported on February 5th that combat intensity across the front lines remained high. By 10:00 PM, a total of 140 separate combat engagements had been recorded. Russian forces conducted 55 airstrikes, dropped 130 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 4,130 kamikaze drones over the course of the day. Furthermore, Ukrainian towns and military positions came under fire 2,315 times from artillery and other systems.

Frontline Situation

On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces eliminated 53 Russian troops and wounded 37. They also destroyed 18 unmanned aerial vehicles, 3 vehicles, and 7 pieces of specialized equipment. Russian forces launched 27 assaults near the towns of Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and other settlements, where fighting continues. Ukrainian strikes successfully hit:

• a self-propelled artillery unit;
• 5 vehicles;
• 2 pieces of specialized equipment;
• 2 UAV control points;
• 12 enemy personnel shelters.

On the Northern-Slobozhanske and Kursk fronts, Ukrainian forces repelled one attack while Russian troops carried out 66 bombardments, including 3 using multiple launch rocket systems. On the Southern-Slobozhanske front, the enemy attempted two assaults near Vovchansk. On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders halted two attacks near Zahryzove and in the direction of Kupiansk.

On the Lyman front, eight Russian assaults were stopped near Drobysheve, Zarichne, and in the directions of Stavky and Dibrova, with one engagement still ongoing. On the Sloviansk front, eight attempts to advance near Dronivka were repelled, and three clashes remain unresolved. Invading forces on the Kostiantynivka front stormed Ukrainian positions 17 times near Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusynyi Yar, and other settlements.

On the Oleksandrivka front, three attacks near Zlahoda and toward Oleksandrograd were halted. Russian airstrikes using guided bombs targeted Zelenaya Dolyna, Levadne, and Orly. On the Huliaipole front, 22 assaults occurred near Huliaipole, Myrne, and toward Dobropillia and other settlements, where battles are also continuing. The enemy attacked positions on the Orikhiv front near Prymorske, while airstrikes hit Shevchenkivske and Novoandriivka.

This report comes on the 1,443rd day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The sustained high tempo of operations underscores the immense pressure on Ukrainian defenders along a vast frontline. The significant losses in Russian personnel and equipment highlight the continued heavy cost of Moscow's offensive efforts.
