German Galushchenko was removed from the night train Kyiv-Warsaw at the border, he is detained

Former Minister of Energy German Galushchenko was removed from the night train Kyiv–Warsaw during the border crossing and detained. The incident occurred in the early morning at the Yagodyn checkpoint when border guards recorded the activation of the exit ban index. This was reported by journalist Vitaliy Hlahola.

After the index was triggered, detectives from NABU and prosecutors from SAP were called to the checkpoint. According to available information, law enforcement officers executed the detention under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine for up to 72 hours, after which the court must choose a preventive measure.

Detention of German Galushchenko: what is known about the circumstances

We are talking about train No. 67/68, which departs from Kyiv, travels through Kovel and crosses the border towards Poland. At 4:00 AM, border guards received a signal about the exit ban, after which Galushchenko was removed from the train.

According to informed sources, preliminary investigative actions are currently underway within the existing legislation and based on judicial sanctions. In the absence of such guidance, the former official could have left the territory of Ukraine.

Kyiv–Warsaw train and NABU case: prerequisites for detention

Earlier, NABU detectives reported suspicions of creating a criminal organization and money laundering in a case related to the state enterprise "Energoatom". After the publication in November of audio recordings of possible participants in the scheme, the Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismissal of Galushchenko, who at that time held a government position.

323 Members of Parliament voted for the former minister's dismissal. The investigation continues, and the court will determine Galushchenko's further procedural status.

It should be noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to suspend German Galushchenko from the position of Minister of Justice on November 12, 2025.
