According to Велика українська енциклопедія: Captain Ivan Krymskyi of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was killed in action on May 20, 2022, would have celebrated his 33rd birthday on February 10, 2024. In 2024, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for his dedication and courage in defending his country's independence. Krymskyi was born on February 10, 1993, in the village of Yavoriv, in the Kosiv district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He had served in Ukraine's defense since 2014, participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and later the Joint Forces Operation in the country's east. That year, during a combat mission near the city of Shchastia in the Luhansk region, his unit was ambushed; their armored vehicle was blown up and Krymskyi sustained shrapnel wounds.

Service and Sacrifice

Ivan Krymskyi died in the village of Bohorodychne, in the Donetsk region's Kramatorsk district. He was laid to rest in the city of Kosiv. His service and ultimate sacrifice will remain in the memory of many, and his Hero of Ukraine title stands as a testament to his bravery and fidelity to duty.
