According to Велика українська енциклопедія: Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Mironyuk, who died during the Russo-Ukrainian war, left a bright mark in the hearts of those who knew him. He was born on December 31, 1984, in the town of Lysyanka, Cherkasy Oblast, and he went from a peaceful life to participating in the defense of his country. Serhiy died on July 24, 2023, near the village of Andriivka, in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk Oblast. His burial took place on July 29, 2023.
Service and feats
Serhiy Mironyuk, call sign 'Myron', served as a junior sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). He voluntarily joined the territorial defense unit 'Azov–Kyiv' in March 2022 and later became part of the special operations forces regiment 'Azov'. Since January 2023, he served in the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the AFU. In March-April 2022, he participated in the defense of Kyiv city and Kyiv Oblast, and after the liberation of the capital, he fought in the Zaporizhzhia direction. In July 2022, Serhiy led the assault near the village of Zelenyi.
For his courage and selflessness, Serhiy Mironyuk was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine in 2024. His journey from Lysyanka to the front in Bakhmut became an example of bravery and devotion to the homeland.
