Ukrainian Maksym Horodynets won bronze at the World Championship in shooting in Cairo
Maksym Horodynets brought home a bronze medal in shooting at the World Championship in Cairo, finishing third in the rapid fire pistol final at 25 meters. In the battle for silver, Horodynets had to compete with India’s Anish Bhanwala, who turned out to be stronger and won in a shoot-off.
It is worth noting that this is the third medal for the Ukrainian at world championships, but the first personal one.
Thanks to Horodynets' success, Ukraine made it to the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing in 10th place. Our athletes performed admirably, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Ukrainian athletes delivered their second most successful performance in the history of their participation in the Festivals. At the World Summer Universiade in Germany, the team demonstrated high results, finishing the competition with another bronze medal won by Mykola Rushchak from Sumy in the 20-kilometer race walk. In the overall medal standings, Ukraine ranked 14th, winning 12 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze.
Thanks to the successful performances of the athletes, Ukraine continues to delight its supporters and improve its positions in the world of sports.
