Use of State Subsidy for Repairs of Temporary Accommodation
According to Міністерство соц. політики: Communities used over 50% of the state subsidy for repairs of temporary accommodation (MTP), distributing more than 535 million hryvnias from the 1 billion hryvnias planned for 2025. As of December 26, these funds account for 53.5% of the total amount of the subsidy developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity to improve living conditions.
According to the program's conditions, at least 20% of the residential premises being repaired must be adapted for the needs of people with limited mobility. At the same time, unspent funds are returned to the state budget, emphasizing the importance of the effective use of allocated resources. The Ministry of Social Policy has planned to continue the state subsidy program next year, indicating the intention to support initiatives to improve living conditions.
Challenges in Using the Subsidy
Among the main reasons why part of the subsidy was not used, the following can be highlighted:
- limited time for conducting repair works;
- power supply interruptions after Russian shelling.
These factors significantly complicated the process of project implementation, which, in turn, affected the speed of fund utilization.
The situation with the use of the state subsidy highlights the challenges faced by communities in the ongoing war and infrastructure problems. The effectiveness of resource use and adaptation of premises for people with limited mobility are important aspects that can influence the overall improvement of living conditions in the regions. The continuation of the program next year may serve as an additional incentive for local authorities in their efforts to modernize housing conditions.
