Public transport in Lviv changes its schedule for Christmas holidays
In Lviv, during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the public transport schedule will be modified. Due to a decrease in passenger flow, city buses, trams, and trolleybuses will operate according to the weekend schedule. This is reported by the Lviv City Council.
According to the information from the Department of City Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the LMR, the changes will take effect on December 25-26 and January 1-2. These are the days when most private enterprises will be closed, traditionally reducing the number of trips around the city.
How public transport in Lviv will operate during the holidays
On festive days, public transport will have larger intervals between routes. At the same time, the first and last routes will be maintained in the usual mode.
Oleg Zabarilo, director of the Department of City Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the LMR, explained:
«On Christmas and New Year’s days, the passenger flow in the city is lower, so public transport will operate according to the “weekend schedule.” Buses, trams, and trolleybuses will have larger intervals, while the first and last routes will be preserved. We ask passengers to take this into account when planning their trips».
Exceptions to the holiday schedule
The LMR transport management clarified that not all routes are subject to changes. In particular, trolleybus No. 27 will operate on its usual schedule without adjustments during the holidays.
The city authorities advise residents and guests of Lviv to take holiday changes into account when planning trips and to check the current schedule in advance.
As a reminder, Lviv received two more trams from Switzerland.
