Bread in Ukraine may increase in price by 25%: expert names the real reasons
In the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, it was stated that bread prices in Ukraine may rise by 25%, and this is not related to the harvest. According to Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council Denis Marchuk, the main reasons for the price increase are costs for electricity, logistics, salaries, and inflation.
It is very important to understand that farmers grow only grain, which is a raw material. And when we see finished bread on the shelves of stores, it has already gone through a large number of production cycles. In the cost of bread, the price of grain accounts for no more than 20-25%, and Ukraine this year has almost the same harvest as last year...
According to Marchuk, inflation in the food group is 22%. Costs for electricity, logistics, and fuel are constantly rising, as well as the need to increase wages. In addition, the exchange rate of the dollar and the euro also affects the cost of equipment for enterprises, which is mostly imported.
According to the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, bread prices in Ukraine are ready to rise due to increased costs for energy, salaries, and other factors not related to the grain harvest.
