Khmelnytskyi region has changed transportation rules during alerts: what drivers should do now

In Khmelnytskyi region, the rules for responding to urban public transport during air alerts, which were introduced in August 2022, have been changed. This was reported by the head of the regional state administration, Serhii Tiuryn.

«Every carrier and driver must clearly understand that the signal «Air Alert» means the need to pay attention to the safety of passengers and their own lives. In case of a threat of enemy shelling, the driver should stop the vehicle near the nearest stop or choose a safe parking space, inform passengers about shelter locations and provide them with an opportunity to use them», – emphasized Tiuryn.

It is proposed to cancel additional requirements for the algorithm of public transport movement, so that everyone can independently decide how to act during an air alert. This is taking responsibility for safety on the part of carriers and residents of the region, added Tiuryn.

The head of the regional state administration also emphasized: «Let the safety of our residents always be important for all of us». In Kyiv, since March 21, surface public transport continues to operate on regular routes during air alerts, according to the decision of the Kyiv City Defense Council, published by the Kyiv City State Administration.

During air alerts, it is extremely important to ensure the safety of citizens, so the authorities are making adjustments to the operation of urban public transport, giving everyone the opportunity to take responsibility for their own safety. In addition, Kyiv has joined the positive example of continuing the movement of public transport even during air alerts, which is an important step in ensuring comfort and safety for the city's residents.
