2026 Hyundai Tucson: Fresh Configurations

According to Главком: Hyundai has introduced two new versions of its 2026 Tucson: a front-wheel-drive Hybrid SE FWD and a premium Night trim. The front-wheel-drive model is priced at $32,550, making it $1,500 more affordable than its all-wheel-drive counterparts. The launch of these cost-effective options helped the company achieve record sales in late spring 2026.

The entry-level Tucson Hybrid SE FWD is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. This combination delivers a total of 231 horsepower and 367 Nm (271 lb-ft) of torque. A traditional 8-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth and reliable performance.

Premium Night Trim and Market Competition

The premium Night version starts at $44,175. Built on the top-tier Limited trim, it includes several exclusive features:

  • 19-inch black alloy wheels with contrasting silver Hyundai emblems;
  • Glossy black front and rear bumper accents instead of standard chrome;
  • Black gloss side mirror housings with dark window line surrounds;
  • A head-up display (HUD) projected onto the windshield;
  • A premium Bose audio system;
  • A heated steering wheel.

Competitors in this segment offer various models, but the Tucson Hybrid SE FWD remains the most budget-friendly choice. For example:

  • Kia Sportage Hybrid starts at $31,985;
  • Toyota RAV4 Hybrid at $33,495;
  • Ford Escape Hybrid ST-Line at $35,385;
  • Mazda CX-50 Hybrid at $36,245;
  • Honda CR-V Hybrid at $37,080.

In Ukraine, approximately 8,500 electric vehicles were registered in the first four months of 2026, reflecting a growing demand for eco-friendly cars.

The introduction of these new Tucson variants shows Hyundai actively responding to consumer trends, particularly the desire for more affordable and fuel-efficient options. Amid increasing competition and rising interest in sustainable vehicles, these new versions could strengthen the brand's position in the hybrid SUV segment. This also highlights the importance of technological innovation and market adaptation for automakers aiming to succeed.

As the demand for affordable vehicles rises, it's worth noting that in April alone, Ukrainians purchased a record number of used cars, indicating a shift in consumer preferences. This trend aligns with the introduction of more budget-friendly options like the latest Hyundai Tucson variants, which cater to those seeking both value and efficiency in their automotive choices.
