Situation in the Gaza Strip

According to Главком: Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip continue to result in numerous casualties. On Thursday, at least 11 people were killed as a result of these strikes. Among the dead:

  • 4 people in Khan Younis,
  • 2 in Jabalia and Deir al-Balah,
  • 4 in the Zeitoun area.

These events occur against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region, where since the announcement of 'ceasefire', over 400 Palestinians and three Israeli soldiers have been killed.

Humanitarian situation and international efforts

The situation in Gaza remains critical, as over 2 million residents live in ruins or temporary tents. At the same time, Hamas has documented over 1100 violations by Israel since October, indicating the continuation of the conflict. Israel has also banned the entry of foreign personnel from three major humanitarian organizations into Gaza, complicating aid delivery to the affected.

In the context of international efforts, US President Donald Trump held a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss a plan that includes disarming Hamas and withdrawing Israeli troops. However, Israel's position remains unchanged - the country opposes the creation of a Palestinian state. This situation only highlights the complexity and duration of the conflict in the region.

The increasing number of casualties and the lack of access to humanitarian aid jeopardize the lives of millions of civilians. International attempts to resolve the conflict face serious challenges, as the positions of the parties remain incompatible, complicating the achievement of long-term peace in the region.
