The government has increased payments to orphans: new housing and financial guarantees

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes that provide for additional financial payments and the provision of clothing and supplies for orphans and children deprived of parental care. This decision was made as part of the implementation of the Strategy for Ensuring the Rights of the Child to Grow Up in a Family Environment (2024-2028), developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.

According to the new regulations, the state guarantees full support for these children during their education and stay in boarding schools until they reach 18 years old, or up to 23 years if they continue their education. After completing their education, they will receive financial assistance, clothing, footwear, equipment, and supplies. All these payments and provisions will be made at the expense of boarding institutions.

Additionally, the decree stipulates that after obtaining education or serving in the army, orphans and children deprived of parental care who are in boarding schools will have the right to housing. This is an important step in creating appropriate conditions for those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
