Personnel changes and new mobilization rules

According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: Ukraine is preparing for serious changes in the field of mobilization and is making personnel changes in the government. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has submitted a resignation statement from the post of Minister of Defense, while Mykhailo Fedorov has also written a statement. Denys Maslov is set to become the new Minister of Justice. At the same time, the head of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov held a meeting with law enforcement officers dedicated to the fight against corruption and desertion.

“We will be changing approaches to the principles of mobilization,” Budanov stated.

Proposed changes

Among the proposed changes are restrictions on the rights of evaders, the cancellation of the possibility for individuals aged 18-22 to travel abroad, as well as the cancellation of deferral for men over 25 who are enrolling in universities. The initiator of the latest idea was the head of the parliamentary committee on education Serhiy Babak:

“It is urgent to cancel the deferral from mobilization for men over 25 who are enrolling in higher education institutions.”

According to Western press reports, the mobilization resource in Ukraine is estimated to be between 800,000 and 1.5 million people. In a week, 6,000 complaints have been received regarding the actions of the TCK, indicating systemic problems. At the same time, there is a counteraction to Russian cultural influence:

  • there are already over 100 Russian artists on the sanctions list;
  • the sanctions policy representative Vasyuk stated a desire to block Russian music on streaming platforms.
