Singer Kamaliya Alleges Betrayal by a 20-Year Friend and Faces Threats Over Boycott
Kamaliya's Conflict with Holynska and Vitro
According to РБК-Україна — Lite: Ukrainian singer Kamaliya has opened up about a fallout with her former friend Svitlana Holynska and producer Hennadiy Vitro. She claims she supported them for years, but after a confrontation, her friend blocked her on all social media platforms, and the producer stopped inviting her to projects. Kamaliya asserts that she received information about threats and intimidation directed at other artists, as well as unclear participation terms in the 'Music Platform'.
Kamaliya first met producer Vitro through her friend Svitlana, with whom she had been close for about two decades. She stated:
'Svitlana and I were friends for 20 years. She never missed a single one of my birthdays. This wasn't just an acquaintance.' - Kamaliya
The singer actively supported Svitlana in her business, which involves providing screens for events, and helped her find side work after she returned to Ukraine. 'I told my friends: please help her, she's my friend, she's coming back to Ukraine,' Kamaliya added.
However, after a phone call where Kamaliya tried to understand the reasons behind the conflict, Svitlana responded sharply and blocked the singer on social media. 'I called her and said: 'Svita, we're friends. Why didn't you tell me about this story?'' Kamaliya recounted. Subsequently, she noticed a decline in invitations to events, linking it to the influence of Svitlana and producer Vitro. 'I started seeing strange coincidences. Wherever Svitlana showed up with her screens, I somehow stopped being invited,' she noted.
Issues with the 'Music Platform'
Kamaliya also emphasized that producer Vitro promised her an active role in the 'Music Platform' after she helped secure a sponsor. Yet, she was later removed from all platforms of the project.
'I'm being cut from the spring platform, cut from the summer platform, cut from all platforms entirely.' - Kamaliya
According to her, other artists are afraid to communicate with her due to threats of losing their spot on the 'Music Platform'. 'Artists told me they were hinted: whoever talks to Kamaliya, is friends with her, or supports her, won't be on the 'Music Platform',' Kamaliya added.
The singer also reported that she was informed about potential legal claims from Vitro. 'I've been told he supposedly plans to go to court. But on what grounds?' she remarked. Kamaliya claims to have an audio recording where Svitlana insults her and threatens to publish personal photos if she doesn't stop giving interviews. 'This is outright pressure and an attempt to scare me,' she stressed.
Kamaliya is also connected to the organization of the YUNA music awards, where she says everything is transparent. 'With YUNA, everything is transparent. Independent experts vote,' the singer noted. Vitro was invited to the YUNA red carpet after a conversation with Kamaliya, and according to her, he then resumed communication and invited her to perform on the 'Platform'. However, the situation shifted again, and Kamaliya spoke out about her friend's betrayal and the conflict with the producer, emphasizing that it's not just an insult but an attempt to remove her from the professional space.
'This is a completely different level,' Kamaliya concluded, highlighting that other artists are even afraid to admit they are in contact with her.
This conflict between Kamaliya, Holynska, and Vitro underscores the complexities within the music industry, where personal relationships can impact artists' careers. The threats and pressure on other participants show the importance of maintaining healthy professional ties and avoiding manipulation that could harm careers. In the increasingly competitive Ukrainian show business landscape, such events can have far-reaching consequences not only for individual artists but for the entire industry.
The tensions within the music industry are escalating, as similar accusations have emerged regarding the 'Music Platform'. Recently, SoloKha revealed that the platform's producer demanded a fee for performance slots, raising questions about the fairness and transparency of participation terms. This situation reflects a broader issue that artists like Kamaliya are facing, highlighting the challenges within their professional relationships and the industry's dynamics.
