SoloKha Accuses Music Platform Producer of Demanding $5,000 for Performance Slot
Controversy Surrounds Music Platform Producer
According to РБК-Україна — Lite: Singer SoloKha has come forward with allegations that Hennadiy Viter, the chief producer of the show "Muzychna Platforma" (Music Platform), demanded payment from her in exchange for appearing on the program. According to the artist, the incident took place over a year ago, following her performance on the show. The amount requested was approximately $5,000. SoloKha stated that she possesses evidence, including video footage of her performance on the platform.
When SoloKha attempted to discuss the matter directly with Hennadiy Viter, she claims he avoided the conversation. She further alleges that the day after she tried to meet him, the producer fled upon spotting her in the hallway of the M1 channel. Commenting on the situation, she said:
"The chief producer of 'Music Platform' demands money from artists. I am speaking specifically about my own experience: money was demanded from me."
Challenges in the Music Industry
SoloKha also noted that she was reluctant to single out "Music Platform" but emphasized:
"I don't perform there not because I lack talent or have bad songs. There are certain things... Phew, I knew I would be asked about this someday."
She described the difficulties she faced:
- You invest time, perform, and promote the event on social media to get people to buy tickets for this platform.
- Then the chief producer calls you, claiming he has some issues because someone didn't buy an ad spot.
- He says he's "taken a hit" on this concert and now has to tell you: either you pay up, or he will cut you out entirely-which is exactly what he did in the end.
It is worth noting that Hennadiy Viter has responded to SoloKha's accusations in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. The situation has sparked discussion within the music community and among the artist's fans, who have shown support during this difficult time.
This case highlights critical ethical concerns in the music industry regarding interactions between artists and producers. Demanding payment for participation in projects can damage a platform's reputation and erode artists' trust in organizers. Public discussion of such incidents may help promote greater transparency in artist-producer relationships and encourage the development of clearer standards and guidelines in this field.
