Championing Accessibility: Kateryna Osadcha's New Role

According to Мін. Економіки: Ukraine's Ministry of Economy has named journalist and public figure Kateryna Osadcha as its ambassador for barrier-free access, with a specific focus on breaking down obstacles that teenagers and young adults face in the job market. This effort is part of the broader National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, a plan set to run through 2030.

As a well-known TV host, activist, and founder of the Kateryna Osadcha Foundation, she intends to highlight the many challenges that can hinder young people from choosing a career, pursuing education, landing their first job, and building a professional future. The Ministry of Economy is already running targeted initiatives in this area, including:

  • “Jobs Without Barriers”
  • “Experience Matters”

Both programs are designed to remove hurdles within the labor sector.

Building a Youth-Friendly Environment

With support from accessibility ambassadors like Osadcha, the goal is to ramp up efforts to create a more comfortable and inclusive environment for young people across Ukraine.

This initiative is a key part of the Ukrainian government's broader push to improve conditions for youth and adolescents. Ensuring equal access to professional opportunities can have a lasting impact on their futures, and promoting barrier-free access in the workplace is a critical step toward building an inclusive society and strengthening the country's economy.
