Suspicion of illegal possession of confidential information

According to Прокуратура Київ: A Kyiv resident has been notified in absentia of suspicion for the illegal possession and use of confidential information about women he stalked for several years. His actions are qualified under part 2 of article 182 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for the violation of the inviolability of private life. 11 women, whom the man got to know starting from 2017, have been recognized as victims in this case.

Methods of stalking and consequences

According to the prosecutor's office, the suspect actively sought women on social media, wrote them messages, and studied their habits and preferences. He tried to gain access to their accounts in online banking services, messengers, mobile applications, as well as in delivery and taxi services. The victims were notified about attempts to access their accounts, and some women received threats from the man regarding the disclosure of their personal information.

In addition, he ordered expensive goods to be delivered to the phone numbers and addresses of women, which indicates his intent to cause harm. Women were unable to rid themselves of the stalker for an extended period. In February 2024, the suspect left the country and has not returned to Ukraine since then. Currently, the man is wanted. The Solomyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv is conducting procedural guidance in this case.

In case of identifying similar incidents, citizens are asked to notify the Solomyansky Police Department of the Main Directorate of National Police in Kyiv.

Citizens are reminded of the need to be cautious in online communication and to report any suspicious actions that may threaten their safety.

This alarming case highlights the growing concerns surrounding the safety and rights of women in Ukraine.
