Attention! New fraudulent SMS
Кіберполіція попереджає про нові шахрайські смс: як зберегти свої кошти в безпеці.

Warning from the Cyber Police of Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Cyber Police of Ukraine has warned citizens about the activation of fraudsters who send dangerous messages on behalf of postal operators. Malefactors attempt to gain access to confidential data of Ukrainians by sending messages about 'problematic delivery'. Such SMS messages come from unknown numbers and contain information about delivery delays, indicating the wrong address or the need for data confirmation.

The text of the messages usually contains a link to a phishing resource. Victims who click on this link may lose their personal or banking data. Malefactors can hack social media accounts and access online banking, which poses an additional threat to users.

Recommendations from the Cyber Police

The Cyber Police recommends following a few simple rules to prevent fraud:

  • Do not click on suspicious links in SMS, messengers, or emails;
  • Never enter personal data and card details on third-party resources;
  • Immediately delete suspicious messages;
  • Check the shipment status only through the official website or app of the operator, or by calling the hotline.

It is important to be vigilant and cautious not to become a victim of fraudsters.

Given the increase in the number of fraudulent schemes related to phishing, it is essential for citizens to remain alert and informed. The measures taken to prevent fraud can significantly reduce the risks of losing personal data. It is also recommended to share this information with relatives and friends to raise the overall level of awareness regarding cybersecurity in society.
