According to ХВИЛЯ: A proposed water tariff of 90 hryvnias per cubic meter, calculated by the private joint-stock company Kyivvodokanal, will not be implemented in the Ukrainian capital. The Kyiv City State Administration has refused to approve this service cost. Instead, residents will continue paying 63.79 hryvnias per cubic meter for centralized water supply and sewage services. This rate was established by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NKREKP) back in 2024.

Impact on Households

According to new calculations, a family of three would have seen their water bill rise by approximately 200–300 hryvnias. Even though the 90 hryvnia tariff was deemed economically justified, it will not be introduced. This means Kyiv households can keep paying the approved rate, providing some stability in their utility costs.

The rejection of the water tariff increase in Kyiv may reflect the city government's aim to maintain social stability for residents, especially amid economic uncertainty. Keeping the existing rate allows families to better plan their budgets, particularly as rising costs for other utilities remain a pressing concern.
