Water tariffs have risen: in which cities Ukrainians will pay the most starting July 1, 2026
Starting July 1, new tariffs for centralized water supply and sewage have come into effect in many cities of Ukraine. In certain communities, the cost of services has more than doubled, and in some cities, the total tariff now exceeds 150 hryvnias per cubic meter. This is reported by Minfin.
Water tariffs from July 1: in which cities the increase is the largest
After the transfer of powers for setting tariffs to local self-government, the city and regional councils' executive committees make decisions about adjusting the cost of services.
Municipal enterprises explain the increase due to rising costs of electricity, fuel, reagents, network repairs, wages, and ensuring critical infrastructure operation. In many cities, it is emphasized that tariffs for residents have not been reviewed since 2022.
The most expensive water after the increase costs in Uman, where the total tariff for water supply and sewage is 157.32 UAH per cubic meter.
Cities with the largest tariff increases also include:
- Uman – 157.32 UAH/cubic meter;
- Pavlograd – 113.47 UAH/cubic meter (was 53.66 UAH);
- Kirovohrad region ('Dnipropetrovsk-Kirovohrad') – proposed 109.14 UAH/cubic meter (decision not yet made);
- Berdychiv – 101.76 UAH/cubic meter;
- Uzhhorod – 91.24 UAH/cubic meter;
- Ternopil – over 87 UAH/cubic meter with VAT;
- Vinnytsia – 81.01 UAH/cubic meter (was 25.62 UAH);
- Ivano-Frankivsk – 66.05 UAH/cubic meter;
- Kremenchuk – 64.07 UAH/cubic meter (was 31.80 UAH);

Why water tariffs are increasing and will there be compensation
In several communities, preparations are already underway for mechanisms to support the population.
In particular, in Ternopil, the city authorities plan to compensate for the difference between the overall building and apartment meter readings so that residents of multi-storey buildings do not receive additional charges.
In Vinnytsia, a compensation program has also been announced following a sharp increase in tariffs, but the procedure for obtaining it has yet to be disclosed.
At the same time, in the Orzhytska community in Poltava region, the new tariff for water supply is 40 UAH per cubic meter, while in Kirovohrad region, the issue of the increase is still under consideration by the regional council.
