Kyiv Again in Traffic Jams: How October 6 Changed Bridge Traffic
On the morning of October 6, Kyiv experienced significant traffic jams on the bridges over the Dnieper River. A similar situation occurred the day before: traffic jams between the banks of the capital hindered many residents from getting to work on time. Today, buses No. 22 and 91 are operating on altered routes. This was reported by journalists of 'RanoК.LIVE' during a live broadcast.
Where the Biggest Traffic Jams in Kyiv are on October 6, 2026
The hardest part was passing the Southern Bridge, the Paton Bridge, and the Metro Bridge. According to one of the locals, the journey from the left bank could take an hour to an hour and a half longer. He chooses the metro because he considers it a faster and more predictable way to reach his destination.
The city has strengthened rail connections between the banks. Until October 9 inclusive, Kyiv City Express is operating 18 additional shuttle flights between the 'Vydubychi' and 'Darnytsia' stations. Trains run during peak hours: from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00, stopping at the 'Berezniaky' station. These services are intended to help residents avoid traffic jams while the train enhances connections between the banks.
How Buses No. 22 and 91 Operate in Kyiv on October 6
The Kyiv City Administration has announced temporary changes for buses traveling from the right bank to the left. Routes No. 22-D and 91-T pass through the Southern Bridge, while in the opposite direction - through the Darnytsky Bridge. Because of this, the usual travel pattern may vary depending on the direction.
According to reports from passengers, there were also disruptions on the 'green' metro line: some trains were operating between the 'Chervonyi Khutir' and 'Osokorky' stations, while people were waiting on the platforms. There is no official confirmation of this information in the provided reports, so it is advisable to check the announcements of the metro before traveling.
Restrictions on the bridges complicate transportation between the two banks, and delays in vehicles also affect ground transportation. After attacks on the Southern Bridge, the city has already changed the operation of public transport. Passengers should monitor operators' announcements and allow extra time for travel.
