80% of conscripts flee from training centers: what awaits evaders
According to glavcom.ua: The issue of evasion from mobilization in Ukraine is becoming critical. According to member of parliament Roman Kostenko, 80% of conscripts flee from training centers, which may lead to their numbers equaling that of the army.
“Soon, the number of SZaCh will equal our army. And these people will later still express claims to those who are fighting now,”
– emphasized the MP.
Kostenko also noted that the state is not doing enough to return evaders or keep them in service. He expressed outrage that millions of Ukrainians are evading the call-up, fleeing, and simply observing.
Over 20 thousand cases of unauthorized leave
In September 2025, over 20 thousand cases of unauthorized leave (SZaCh) were recorded in Ukraine, reported former member of parliament Igor Lutsenko.
Lutsenko also noted that those who most often refuse to serve in the army are those who have been serving for a long time or those who have just recently joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Criminal liability for unauthorized leave
The Verkhovna Rada supported bill No. 13260, which provides for criminal liability for unauthorized leave for military personnel. This law is expected to help solve the issue of evasion from mobilization and improve the situation in the army.
The growing problem of evasion from mobilization and unauthorized leave in the Ukrainian army requires urgent measures to improve the situation and ensure the country's security.
