According to glavcom.ua: In Cyprus, the police are investigating a case regarding an attempted violent kidnapping of a Ukrainian citizen who once held a high position in the government. The incident occurred on the evening of November 20 in the city of Larnaca. According to law enforcement, three masked assailants attacked the man and attempted to abduct him.

According to Cyprus Times, the victim turned out to be former Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn, who is wanted internationally. The attackers fled during the kidnapping attempt, leaving behind altered license plates and a gun.

Law enforcement is determining the identities of those behind the attack and the possible motives for the crime. The investigation is ongoing. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Volodymyr Demchyshyn remains wanted and is listed in the electronic declaration.

Furthermore, charges are being brought against five individuals for aiding terrorist groups and organizations, including former president Petro Poroshenko. Preliminary investigation data suggests that these individuals contributed to Russia's and terrorist groups' control over Ukraine's energy sector, which threatens the economic security of the state.
