Returning Citizens Are Vital for Ukraine's Economic Recovery

According to Главком: At the First Affordable Mortgage Forum, Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov stressed that the return of Ukrainians is crucial for the nation's economic recovery. He emphasized that housing policy is a significant factor influencing the pace of this recovery. According to Budanov, bringing people back to Ukraine will drive economic growth and have a positive impact on the country's development. This focus on repatriation is a key part of the government's strategy to stabilize the economy after the war's devastation.

Affordable Mortgage Initiative Shows Results

Budanov reported that the affordable mortgage program has already enabled over 24,000 families to obtain their own homes, providing stable living conditions for approximately 70,000 to 80,000 citizens.

"What does 24,000 homes mean? That's 24,000 families. With a minimum of three people per family, that's about 70,000 to 80,000, maybe even more, people who can now live in their new homes. This is undoubtedly a major positive," he stated.

Despite this progress, millions of Ukrainians remain internally displaced or were forced to flee abroad due to the war. Budanov pointed out that

"People cannot return to the country if they don't know where to go. Or, more accurately, if they know for certain they have nowhere to go."

He also noted that while the affordable mortgage program is an important step, it cannot meet every need: "We cannot simply give apartments to everyone."

Therefore, the return of Ukrainians is a key factor for economic stabilization, with housing policy, particularly the affordable mortgage program, serving as a vital tool in this effort.

The importance of Ukrainians returning home extends beyond social concerns to core economic imperatives.
