The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, recounted how many assassination attempts he has survived since the onset of the full-scale war. He shared this in an interview with Natalia Moseychuk.

Budanov claims that he has experienced at least ten assassination attempts on his life. However, he cannot determine the exact number but believes it to be no fewer than a dozen. 'Honestly? I don’t even know. That’s a truthful answer. I don’t know the exact number. More than ten for sure. Frankly speaking, I think it’s around twenty,' said the head of intelligence.

It should be noted that in the autumn of 2023, the wife of the head of the GUR, Marianna Budanova, was poisoned with heavy metals. Such substances are not used in everyday life or military affairs - their use may indicate the likelihood of an attempted poisoning.

According to Kyrylo Budanov, he has survived at least ten assassination attempts on his life during the full-scale war.
