NBA Club Fired Employee Who Complained About Discrimination and Harassment

The National Basketball Association (NBA) club 'Phoenix Suns' decided to fire Gene Taylor, who held the position of security director. This information was reported by 'Glavkom' citing ESPN.

Earlier, Taylor filed a lawsuit against 'Phoenix', accusing the team of discrimination and harassment.

'Although the organization usually does not comment on internal personnel matters, Mr. Taylor or his attorney Sherri Wright evidently decided to bring the issue regarding the dismissal to public attention. Taylor was dismissed from his position as security director because an independent external investigation concluded that he violated company policy regarding confidential information about security operations and intentionally lied to the investigator,' said the vice president of communications for 'Phoenix Suns', Stacey Mitch.

Representatives for Taylor claim that neither his attorneys nor he disclosed information about his dismissal, and 'Phoenix's' actions can be interpreted as an attempt to divert attention from the lawsuit.

Taylor previously emphasized that in 2023 and 2024, police officers easily carried knives and weapons into the 'Phoenix Suns' arena, and despite 'enhanced security measures', the team did not heed his warnings and later demoted him.
