Ukrainian Cup Quarter-Final Matchup

According to Главком: The Ukrainian Cup quarter-final on March 3rd will see Kyiv's Dynamo face off against Inhulets from Petrove. Bookmakers have installed Dynamo as massive favorites, offering odds of just 1.02 for their victory. In stark contrast, a draw is priced at 19.06, while an Inhulets win is a long shot at 61.71. The odds for Inhulets to advance to the next round are set at 17.9, and a bet on the match producing fewer than 1.5 total goals is offered at 9.27.

The two teams are in vastly different states of readiness. Dynamo has returned from the winter break to play two Premier League matches, securing wins against Rukh (1:0) and Epitsentr (4:0). Dynamo forward Matvii Ponomarenko scored three times across those fixtures. Inhulets, however, has not played an official match since late November, with the First League season not resuming until mid-March. Furthermore, the team has lost several key players, including Zhovtenko, Piatov, Sada, Volokhatyi, and Faraseienko.

Head-to-Head History

Historical meetings between the clubs show Dynamo's clear dominance. In last season's Premier League, Dynamo defeated Inhulets 5:2 at home, with midfielder Shaparenko scoring twice and providing an assist. Overall, the teams have met seven times, with Dynamo winning five, including three decisive victories. In the 2022/23 season, Inhulets managed a 2:0 win over Dynamo in Kyiv, while a match in the summer of 2021 ended in a 1:1 draw.

The Dynamo vs. Inhulets match will be broadcast on the 2+2 TV channel, with coverage starting at 18:00 Kyiv time. It will be available via T2 digital broadcasting, on leading OTT platforms, and on cable networks across various regions of Ukraine.

This match is a crucial stage for both teams, as the Ukrainian Cup offers a chance not only to win a trophy but also to prove their mettle in a high-stakes competition. Dynamo, with the advantage in head-to-head history and superior current form, aims to confirm its favorite status. Meanwhile, Inhulets, despite its roster losses and long competitive break, will look to spring a surprise. The result could significantly impact the trajectory of the season for both sides.
