A man in Turkey caused a forest fire due to a tick. A court in the Turkish province of Manisa has arrested a man who ignited a forest fire over 12 hectares after trying to eliminate a tick, reports CNN Türk.

Since the beginning of 2025, at least 10 people have died from tick bites in the province of Sivas due to Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. This disease can lead to bleeding and fever and has a high risk of mortality.
