According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainians are observing a steady increase in the dollar and euro, with forecasts regarding the currency exchange rate by the end of the year. In December 2025, the official exchange rate of the hryvnia fluctuated between 42.05-42.34 UAH per dollar in the first half of the month. Expert Oleksiy Plotnikov predicts that by the end of the year, the dollar exchange rate will be 42.50 UAH per dollar. He notes that a possible increase of 10 kopecks is likely, and the hryvnia will gradually lose value. Plotnikov also emphasized that it is unlikely the indicator will reach 43 hryvnias.

The official exchange rate of the hryvnia to the euro has remained in the range of 48.99-49.66 UAH. According to Plotnikov, the situation in the currency market has stabilized, and there will be no significant upheavals before the end of 2025. Moreover, an important factor that could affect the exchange rate is the decision of the European Union regarding financial support for Ukraine amounting to 90 billion euros over 2026-2027. This could positively impact the economic situation in the country.
